YOUTH CONCERT ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR
HIRING REQUIREMENTS
POSITION: Youth Concert Orchestra Conductor
PAY AND BENEFITS: Salary. No benefits
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Fairbanks Youth Orchestras Council.
FYO’s VISION: The Fairbanks Youth Orchestras were founded in 1971. We have over 100 school aged musicians from the Fairbanks, North Pole and Eielson areas represented in our 3 ensembles. Our mission is to provide motivated students with a musical opportunity to augment their school music program.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare music selection and requirements for auditions.

Conduct Youth Concert Orchestra auditions at the beginning of the Fall semester.

Seating placement of all musicians in the Concert Orchestra.

Select all music, and oversee the ordering and purchasing of music.

Conduct all rehearsals or find a council-approved substitute.

Attend council meetings in person and submit a report to the Council Chair.

Cooperate with the Council regarding concert dates, information to be included in the programs and publicity.

Engage in recruiting and fundraising activities.
